It is one of the prime subject in BDS 3rd year. The department is involved in various activities particularly regular theoretical classes of the students and demonstration of clinical methods of examinations of all the body systems. Besides this the department is also involved in diagnosis and prescribing medicine in the indoor of the hospital with attachment to Zonal Hospital, Solan.
During teaching special emphasis is given on diagnosis of disease by careful history taking and general examination of different body systems. Dental students are taught in such a manner that they are able to diagnose dental as well as general ailments.
